1. This mosque and these dunes
With the like of this, ecstasy shakes you

2. So the living one, his dwelling was made
And his beauty, the veils moved away from him

3. And every youth who grew up in its abode
Bows down longing for it and moves nearer

4. Unload your burdens at their dwellings
Lest the saddlebags and luggage burden you

5. And spread humbly on the eyelid, hopefully
Meekness and propriety will intercede for you

6. Ask to visit their homes when you descend among them
For you are their guest and they are bedouins

7. And bow to them and draw near, for their lovers
Bow down longing for them and move nearer

8. For you O people of the silent Kadhimah
I have secrets of passion, its narration is wondrous

9. I see my thoughts observing me
Whence this brotherhood and lineage?

10. And if you longed for them, I sent to you
My books of passion and from you the books

11. And I drink the wine when I drink it
Pure and awake with it, so what is the cause?

12. Its wine is of my blood, and its presser
Is my essence, and its raisins are of my tears

13. If I awake by drinking it, the people indeed
Became drunk with it though they did not drink

14. It is the lasting bliss in my eternity
And if it burns in cups, it flames

15. So sing to me if you quenched my hopes
In the name of her who hides from me
