1. My life's eyes shed tender tears on Yathrib's soil
With yearning and sorrow for that blessed place

2. And I return with a greeting of sweet perfume
Borne on the Najdi breeze, O best of sweet scents

3. A land where revelation found refuge and home
And where forgiveness is granted for every sinner's wrong

4. The abode of perfection and clear revelation
Where the sphere of heaven ended its destined course

5. Its hidden lights shone upon the world
An overflowing grace beyond all earning

6. Informing of all that was absent through proofs
That demonstrated miracles for every demand

7. Whenever his seeing eyes looked upon
The most beautiful reality, excel and purify

8. He saw the isthmus between two seas, a made universe
With its origin fixed in a clear sequence

9. Taking from this for that by its rightful due
In a proportion guarded, from common source and unique descent

10. Passing by the hand of its meaning, its obligation
Like clouds driven for its possibility

11. So a recipient accepts the decree of the Doer
By the content of the inheritance of perfected grace

12. Without establishing through this mediation
Any right over people, or distinguishing of positions

13. That is because there is no might nor power
But by the Absolute Generous Bestower

14. Rather, he sees that the subtlety of his heart
Had removed the summons of passions and desirous love

15. So the meaning of this station was hidden from him
And its people were not absent from it, unseen

16. When our feet stand in ranks behind him
In a prayer of witnessing, not of veiling

17. He passed and none followed of his witnesses
We passed after him, we did not follow

18. They are the Prophet's heirs, in both witnessing and the unseen
And nearness is not like the drawn near

19. This is a path called to with insight
To it we called all east and west

20. That, then, is the caller to God by the approach
In which the image of perfection appears in every creed

21. A law of truth, the truth of every law
The station of specificity beyond general order

22. Referring by its aspects to it
And by meanings from the realities of the hidden
