1. Ignorance insisted on shaking a throne
Protected by the hand of the Merciful from trembling

2. Yet it only shook every terrified heart
Neighboring in the meadows a similarly terrified heart

3. Whenever news saddened him
Tears would flow through the Nile Valley like the Nile

4. And whoever plotted against Al-‘Abbas
Plotted against Egypt and all its loved ones

5. And whoever tries to extinguish the lamp of a nation
Will see God protect the light and all the people
