1. Son of Abraham, forgive us though we
Have made you taste the oppressors' punishment

2. It is noble if we get angry and yet refrain
From harming the likes of you - that is the forbearers' nature

3. This month is one where the likes of you
Are forgiven by the forgiving

4. We have erased the verse of retaliation, so
Today we recite the verse of the merciful

5. So stick to custom and you will live under our
Protection, among the honored writers

6. And write and speak good, that will please us
And walk straight, that will please the Lord of all worlds
