1. Your beauty my gratitude and praise cannot suffice,
And your generosity enriched me before the generous could endow.

2. You bestowed favor upon me from every side,
And your renown between the horizons has granted favor.

3. You were generous so you brought honor to your servants,
Thus the master’s nobility brought the slave nobility.

4. If not for you none would know my place, nor speak my tongue,
Nor would my palms bear fruit, nor be guided.

5. I was destitute, bereft of wealth,
But you lengthened my arms with the good you bestowed.

6. You increased my enviers but made my blessings thrive,
You made my fate submissive and clarified my guidance.

7. You enriched me as if you'd guaranteed
My descendants will never lack wealth after me.

8. For a time I lived in deprivation and hardship -
But through your blessings I now live in ease and comfort.

9. Through you my withered soul revived after it was despondent,
And my branch flourished after it nearly dried up.

10. I've filled the horizons with my praise, and whenever
I praise you, your favors upon me only increase beyond my praise.

11. I will exert myself in praise, and would that I
Could minimally reciprocate your kindness in my striving.

12. Abu Salih, you've become singular, and your
Sublimities have become the unique, Eternal, Indivisible.

13. Your conscience is for piety and your effort for the sublime,
Your wealth for bounty and your life for glory.

14. When you push back armies with armies,
The enemy ranks recoil from the steadfast ranks.

15. Misfortune complains of the flames your efforts ignite
And the wrapping of shrouds around the bare bodies.

16. And of how you block the air in every battle
And defeat the enemies while the horses charge wildly.

17. You encompassed the heights since you were a child,
And for you the earth was smoothed since your swaddling clothes.

18. All the worlds sacrifice themselves to protect you from harm,
For he who is ransomed is equal to he who ransoms.

19. I stood and openly declared praise, and truly
My sincerity is manifold what I have declared.

20. There is no love but after my love and companionship,
No affection but after what proved true of my affection.

21. Your life is dearer in my heart than piety itself,
And your gratitude sweeter on my tongue than honey.

22. So live an eternal life devoid of your absence,
And may your palaces never lack settled glory and bliss!
