1. The poem's beauty enthralled me, its letters
Since the day he who my poem is for left... my abyss

2. With him left the world and his ghosts remained
My glory...for one whose time opposes me

3. After meeting, only in the heart I see him
And after whispering, only in thought I speak to him

4. My words and sight are for another... I deprive him
Without him, my stranger self and brother despair

5. Oh yearning's hardship, its hands applaud
Until I turn and see no dear one in the house

6. Be the eyes devoid of anything despised
And the heart be a collection...of days thrown at it

7. His swords compete with my lifelong race
Wounding my purpose...in my life and casting it away

8. Oh Merciful's eye...where is the sorrow
Until the eyelid...is folded, what can smooth it?

9. I did not go to one who eases to find solace
None have mercy...except God, no doubt overwhelms me
