1. My father asks for news and says to God,
The messenger found what was assigned to him,

2. And my heart wanders since the first year,
Oh God, make it easy for whoever guides it,

3. Seized by one who has a mark on his cheek,
Clouds of darkness in a rising sun,

4. He stole from me without me knowing he stole from me,
He robbed me while I thought I was aware of him,

5. The day he sent his eyes to my heart,
I gave him my innermost being, and the Giver is God,

6. Half the beauty of creation is in his eyes,
And the rest of the beauty is in all of him.
