1. The dove fluttered, and I said "O God willing, good!"
The nights have passed, their moon returns

2. Seeing it intoxicated me, made me flutter and swoon
And eyes met each other's gaze

3. My heart flutters for it as a bird flutters
And man who deceives it is beneath it

4. O morning of my life, o dawn of glad tidings
Its light filled my heart and immersed my soul

5. After separation that crossed limits
The branches of my heart withered, devoid of its times

6. It settled in my soul after tribulations
A cloud poured its rain on my heart

7. And with it watered a plantation destined
To be sowed with seeds of love

8. O you who blame the eye, by God tribulations!
And those unaware of the state of my eyes, excuse it

9. My eyes avoid all young men
And if my eyes see my beloved, it is their river

10. O people, I love him and love is predestined
This is my passion and this is its fate

11. And love, O people of love, has no interpretation
Two hearts, by God, it commands them

12. I did not come to portray the state of love
And speak of my state to let it be known

13. I found my passion above all expressions
