1. The revelation of religious law, its intricacies are closed
None would deny it except a defiant infidel

2. Nothing remains of it except what a person perceives
In their sleep or through an unveiling thus appearing

3. None can perceive it without its form
Except here and thus whoever crosses over attains

4. True knowledge from the Merciful, good tidings
With which the Guardian blesses him in his vision if he gives thanks

5. In it there is a subtle blending, none knows it
Except one who knows the verses and suras

6. So the thing descends to him in his vision in the status
Of a verse thus it is Quran for whoever observes

7. In compiling it and that which contains of expression
And true inspiration through which judgment flowed for us

8. So follow our path if you are of insight
And do not deviate with us if you are a person of reason

9. The passerby may err in interpreting his vision
Or get it right as I have narrated reports

10. About the Prophet, Messenger of God our Master
In what the Truthful one interpreted though they stumbled

11. He got some right and missed some and thereby
Came the hadith I narrated trace

12. I have vowed and there is no blame in a vow
I will give what my palm possesses of sacrifice

13. For my Lord’s sake if God is generous to
My heart with knowledge of measures and degrees

14. In knowledge of God but through others for we have
A soul accustomed to glorification during separation

15. Between layers of ornamented spheres
With God’s ornamentation in discipline and splendor

16. I travel to Him while He seeks me
In every state with an untroubled mystery

17. That is because in my journey I witness Him
Traveling to my essence a journey of joy

18. In every state so witnessing Him makes me oblivious
To myself and what lies with us regarding that contains no objection

19. No intellect remains nor senses I feel with
So He may have mercy on the branch whatever crookedness lies in it

20. Or I died to myself while His protection
Kept me in His palm and that which lies in subtlety

21. Do not sail seas you do not know
For the waves have clashed in the depths

22. Hold fast to the sword for the sword brings mercy
And do not compromise for ruin lies in concession

23. I have been sorely vexed by that whose complaint comes to me
Is there with you any relief for what it complains of?
