1. I gained control like the King when his kingdom was mine
I made him submit without resistance or doubt

2. Like how I determine his fate, unseen and visible
And truly command him, I have no doubt in that

3. My existence is the existence of Truth when I had proof
And understanding, and I never left the kingdom

4. Just as I own in my poverty and deficiency my possession
So my state is between owning and the kingdom

5. A discourse like the fragrance of a meadow from its dew
And like scattered pearls compiled in a string

6. A discourse that has influence on every receptor
That makes one laugh at times for the jesters or cry

7. Just as the flowers of gardens grew his letters
Complaining of the next one to it while it does not complain

8. A wise book from a wise revelation
I become through it in ease at times and in hardship

9. His prose and composition made me lean
So my body is from what reached me from it in molding

10. I wrote to it complaining of what afflicts me
Just as people used to complain of the owner of the wailing
