1. I know not one whose knowledge I know
The eye of ignorance, so the knowledgeable is ignorant

2. If I sought the seas of my knowledge of her
Oceans came that have no coasts

3. Nothing occupies minds but their essence
So our hearts are preoccupied with the essence, the preoccupier

4. None attained her except by her
And by what belongs to her, so she is the attained, the attainer

5. I spoke no word in existence verified
Except that you are the spoken, the speaker

6. So look through my eyes what you see, for it is
My eye in truth, and it is the attainment

7. Do not separate me from my loved ones
The lover, he is the beloved, the separator

8. I passed by a meadow where gazelles
Graze, no herdsman herds them

9. Hunting, not hunted, unique
In her traits, so her attributes converge

10. If she appeared with the description of her station
She would take its heights, so the lowlands

11. Knowledge of God is my duty to Him
So I am the duty, and the Beloved supererogations

12. And with this came God’s revelation to our hearing
In His utterance, and He is the truthful Speaker

13. No day has passed before my eyes
Taking us to it except the time came

14. What division of the realm with no division
In His essence except the separating veil

15. It is said a night has come its day
To displace it, and He is the Displacer, the Vanishing

16. So when my attribution traits appeared to Him
No signs appeared there, separators

17. I saw a single matter, minds do not doubt
In it, and its good encompasses you

18. The like works the person who
In truth works with the Sacred Law

19. He who transcended existence in manners
And disposition, and he is the Perfect Man

20. I diminished Him in words exalting Him
And He is the Great, the Wealthy, the Provider

21. He is the Responder when you asked His Majesty
And when you responded, His call, so He is the Asker

22. The matter is between you wander and perplex
And resemble and converge, intermingled

23. I traveled from the shining sun when it rose
Above the clouds, so the enterer was confused in it

24. God has a light like a lamp, He extends it
And the convergence with integrity sets

25. A parable came to you which you did not know
And the Citer of Parables does not resemble

26. Man accepts not the knowledge of his existence
Except through Him, so He is the Most High, the Lowest

27. And when the excellence of the passage’s meaning shone
And the clouds of rhetoric cleared with little

28. The very soul of praise is His names, and it is they
That appeared through us, and we have evidence of Him

29. If it were not what was, then the opposite
Would say what we said of Him in the beginning

30. If not for our stations, I would say making known to you
O stations in the heart, stations

31. When the stars show their lights
They are in the sky for those who journey with torches

32. Those who have spiritual ascent journey to its light
The excellent people of knowledge, the virtuous

33. I extended my hand to the guided ones and adornment
For the observers, thus matchmakers and confidants

34. I protect the existence of my truth
With a truth of her the tongues contend

35. None knows manifest truth but its people
Except the just imam of Yathrib

36. Do not blame those enamored with love
The content has succeeded, and the blamer failed

37. And the virtuous faithful women are modest
Do not accuse them, they are heedless

38. O you who listen to my advice do not neglect
And act by it, for the loser is the neglectful

39. And beware the call of Truth the day you arrive
To questioning about His knowledge, O neglectful one

40. The inhabited abode, if you empty it
Of its inhabitants, it is the populated place

41. None knows the worth I have said
In our composition but the intelligent, the reasonable

42. The word is the word of the Sacred Law, do not judge it
The bloom of prohibition with the reality is faded

43. The ties of existence flow by its rule
So it is the Loving, the Infatuated, the Acquiescent

44. Do not hope but for one who executes His judgment
He who hopes from other than the Guardian has erred

45. One described with every universal reality
Is receptive to knowledges

46. Do not withdraw into reason without a Sacred Law
The garden of prohibition with the Sacred Law is not licit

47. And devote yourself to the knowledge of reality
Everyone earnestly seeks the knowledge of reality

48. Reason accepts not casting but from one reasonable
So when it is devoid of it, it is no longer reasonable

49. Between me and my loved ones is the intimacy
Of informed company and backbiting and partings
