Introduced me to the Generous Creator

2. To the True God
My ambition to excel

3. With the horses of truth
Did not attain by right

4. This which I deposited in the papers
Of gentle words that

5. Melted in hearts that prayed
Turning from their passions

6. Did not attain by hopeful gaze
Except that which was in them of compassion

7. It is a bounty from Him
We took from Him

8. If He be unwilling
And relied for sustenance

9. On the Generous Creator
O God of creation

10. If I am equitable in outpacing
Then I am in the right

11. So find with expenditure
As much as we have of hopeful gaze

12. His eternal wisdom
Appeared from Mount Sinai

13. Upon loss of the light
If not for the judgment of compassion

14. No wisdom would have appeared for daylight
