1. I congratulated the month, but the month congratulated me,
It has no control over what it brings,

2. It has power over all corners,
And the command is in its hand, as well as benefit and harm,

3. It has no knowledge of what shapes it,
Other than the Exalted, All-Knowing, One God,

4. If Jonah and the whale sought it,
It would be from Mecca, unaware of what the sea is,

5. We are content with what its features gave,
From the One who informed of its existence as decoration,

6. Indeed, your Lord revealed its command as such,
In it, it has no taste or knowledge,

7. Subjugated by God's command, having nothing
Except praising, glorifying, and remembering,

8. With tongues whose eloquence we do not comprehend,
For their veil is destiny and divine decree,

9. Praising Him instinctively as they were created,
With no thought of what they praise,

10. Signs of God standing for God,
Struggling for His great command,

11. Al-Khalil called it an impenetrable veil,
And proof perplexing the mind,

12. The Messenger of God came to it while knowing it best,
So he is the most knowledgeable and aware scholar,

13. He has no equal in the wisdom he knows,
Among servants or freemen,

14. Few and many submit to Him,
Neither few nor many can exhaust Him,

15. God is too Great for anyone to grasp Him,
How can anyone grasp the One whose mantle is Grandeur?

16. Pride, with countless mysteries,
And they do not know their value in their ignorance,

17. Indeed, the mysteries are veils of knowledge,
You will have no confusion or denial about that,

18. Before them is the inability to count them,
And with them, the insignificant obtains little,

19. The treasuries of generosity, their locks never closed,
If they ended, poverty in the world would cease,

20. And its poverty is eternal, never-ending,
Likewise its fulfillment, its lifetime never expires,

21. Poverty is intrinsic to its owner,
And if ease from his Lord lasted, it would remain

22. I only said what the God told us,
In us - in every ease is difficulty entwined,

23. God has no limit that defines us
Over time - thus His name is Eternal,

24. God has people whose station is known -
The sun, the fig, the truth, and the dawn,

25. They are the stars that the celestial spheres revolve around,
Rather, I should say they are the pebbles and soil,

26. They attained perfection, none can grasp them
Except me, for they are the noble and the witr,

27. Bewildered, confused, seeing them battling,
Not thinking of anything besides their goal,

28. To them, one who does not know them
Is equal to the knowledgeable, openly or secretly,

29. They are existence, but have no existence,
So neither benefit nor harm veils them,

30. Their image is of the highest celestial sphere,
And from the earth's soil comes what brings blossoms,

31. Their drinks are water, honey and wine,
Their drink is the milk brought by cows,

32. This is their drink of that which has no description,
A taste transcending sweet and bitter,

33. Their station is where they are, their state
Is what they desire - so for them the crescent wanes,

34. They are neither ignorant nor understood in their purposes,
Their dwelling is the inhabited abode and the grave,

35. Mute when they speak, blind when they see,
Deaf when they hear, their faith is disbelief,

36. They are not guided nor guide their companion,
