1. A body without a soul, laid low by decay
A withered branch, would that it flowered again
١. جسمٌ بلا روح ضجيعُ الرَّدى
غصنٌ ذوى يا ليته أورقا
2. A soul without knowledge, though it is its home
For strangers to behold, when they were created
٢. روحٌ بلا عِلم وهي بيته
لرؤية الأغيار إذ أخلقا
3. All were in need of His bounty
The people of falsehood, and those of truth
٣. افتقر الكل إلى جوده
أهل الأباطيلِ ومَن حققا
4. So He sent the lights traveling
Illuminating West and East
٤. فوجّه الأنوار سيارة
أنارت المغربَ والمشرقا
5. Thus the body shone with His lights
Revealing mysteries when it shone
٥. فأشرق الجسمُ بأنواره
وأظهر الأسرارَ إذ أشرقا
6. So praise be to God who has protected
From the evil that is feared or avoided
٦. فالحمد لله الذي قد وقى
من شرِّ ما يُحذر أو يُتَّقى
