1. Love has perplexed me,
In that which you know.

2. If I say it is I,
It says, "I do not know it."

3. And if I say no,
It says, "I understand it."

4. I am nothing but love
And thus I judge it.

5. And love expresses what
I have never been able to express.

6. And we have, for all
That it has said firmly to me,

7. Thus it has let me know -
My firm master.

8. Through it I reveal it,
And to it I conceal.

9. And I am the servant who -
Its stars have fallen upon me.

10. Seeking the matter which -
In the soil its landmark.

11. And thus I am just in -
All that I oppress it.

12. The eye of what I clarify -
The eye of what I obscure.

13. So if I praise it -
Then I speak to it.

14. And that which contradicts me -
Then I resolve it.

15. And thus it sees me -
Always resolving it.
