1. Alas, alas for what they promised
Of those who spoke ill of them while immersed in luxury

2. The state of the God of creation is between them
And Him legally so they have no mercy

3. Indeed, over their vision is a veil
Of the darkness of ignorance so they do not see

4. Truth called them, come and listen
But they did not answer and refused to hear

5. So their time will come upon them suddenly
From Him with all that they hate

6. It will seize them while heedless
In a state of neglect and they will not feel

7. They knew the matter but forgot
Themselves intoxicated and they do not know

8. God is not questioned about His actions
With them as it came and they are questioned

9. It has been said of them, stop them, let them see
This which they were being tested with

10. God has detailed for them their wealth
And what is upon them in that which they read

11. The messengers came with it from Him
Giving good news and warning

12. Their imagination said to them we have judged
The nonsense in it, perhaps you will overcome

13. Regret at their nonsense returned upon them
So they were in the world losers

14. So God and His messengers turned away
From them as they turned away obstinate
