1. The one whose beauty captivates me
Who is it that is infatuated yet unaware?

2. In Surat Al-A'la and the like
Like the dawn and night when it passes

3. Glory to the Exalted, nothing compares
To the One I know

4. In Surat Ash-Shura came His mention
And He is now in my recollection

5. He has truly come with attributes
Exceeding ten in number

6. Bearing the Throne of His Essence by His Essence
And has no eye but my secret

7. Through Him my existence and through Him my entity
Thus my affairs flow against my will

8. Do not look at me except as Him, for I
Am the essence of Truth without veil

9. So in the world there is no joint
Without the knowledge of remembrance overflowing

10. So wisdom recognizes Him who has
In his essence a station of gratitude

11. To him is increased knowledge from his gratitude
Veiled by the disbelief in him

12. And not the disbelief which I have tasted
Of one who affirms man as lost

13. In origin, then came explaining
Branching with truth and patience

14. Thus came the text He spoke
To His creation in the decisive remembrance

15. So whoever wants to excel among his people
Let him walk in my state upon my trace

16. For He is the Truth who said to me
"Advise My servants and obey My command"

17. In Mecca in a state that required
At that time, taking from hardship

18. And in Damascus He said to me the same
Another time, in my secret

19. So I said: "O Lord, help me with
What You said to me." So He said: "With victory."

20. So He did not cease to support me
In every state, ever giving good tidings

21. And He said: "Complete what you have begun
Of the openings, according to the decree

22. Upon the tongue of the Chosen Ahmad
And did not prevent excuses from me

23. For in it is a disturbing cause
That straitens my chest to mention

24. So He said to me: "Do not worry, I
Am removing what you fear of harm."

25. "May God support you, so be secure
And let not your heart be in panic."

26. So I stood, eloquently explaining to them
Clarifying in public and in secret

27. Citing without limit for Him
As if drawing from a sea

28. If one looks to His word
That to Him is the return of affairs

29. He would see the existence of Truth is the same
That he seeks in the oneness of multitudes

30. If he knew His states
He would not distinguish good from evil

31. Evil does not belong to Him, for that
Named evil is nonexistence, realize

32. In His hand is good, so say as the one
Who says with span and handbreadth

33. So worship the God of the unseen, submitting
And do not disbelieve the possessor of thought
