1. My existence is the existence of the knowers, for they
Are like those I have witnessed, I witness truly

2. Their eyes are my eyes, and I am none but them
Be they joined or separated, universally or particularly

3. And their being is the being of God, as I am
Say truth if you wish, or say creation if you wish

4. Like an olive tree standing on the leg of my existence
Neither westbound nor eastbound did it see

5. Transcending spirits, without inclination it has
And the clouds that bring forth drizzle rain upon it

6. From it appeared to the leg of a free man, as appeared
To my eyes from it, the leafy foliage

7. So I witnessed unities, and saw no multiplicity
And I have spoken in what I spoke the truth and honesty

8. And composed verses of poetry about them
Not my speech, but they are the essence of speech

9. The teeth of a comb they are, you see them
And in a lowland beyond hills and horizon they are

10. They have motions in stillness, so their maker
Is He for whom they were created, the separator

11. So He acts in the form that He has set for it
Thus you see Him preserving harmony and rupture
