1. I was endowed with knowledge unmatched
Except by the Most Merciful of the Throne and Chair

2. And I witnessed of the knowledge of the unseen, wonders
That are too sacred to be mentioned in the world of senses

3. How strange that I come and go
A stranger, alone in existence, without kin

4. The people denied my words and maligned
Me with knowledge for which I do not blame myself

5. For they are neither with the living in the light I see
Nor with the dead in the darkness of blindness

6. So glory to Him who gave life to my heart with His light
And blinded them, the light of guidance, with blindness

7. We have knowledge of the universe that has spread
From farthest West to rising of the sun

8. Adorned with it is he who had a pure mind
Free of conjecture, guesswork, illusion and hunches

9. And it became in my pure whiteness immaculate
A leader, though people about it are in confusion
