1. O doves of the shrines and temples,
Be gentle, do not weaken my love with laments,

2. Be gentle, do not reveal in wailing and crying,
My hidden passions and my secret sorrows,

ุฎูููููู ุตูุจุงุจุงุชู ููู
ูููููู ุฃูุญุฒุงูู
3. I confide them at dawn and at day break
In the cooing of a lover and the moan of a yearner,

ูุดุชุงูู ููุฃููููุฉู ูููู

4. Souls struggled in the flood of passion,
So they inclined with seductions upon me and seduced me,
ูค. ุชููุงููุญูุชู ุงูุฃูุฑูุงุญู ูู ุบููุถูุฉู ุงูุบูุถุง

ุงููุช ุจูุฃูููุงูู ุนูููููู ููุฃูููุงูู
5. And there came to me from fervent desire and affection,
And from the side of affliction, seductions upon me,

ููู ุงูุดูููู ุงูู
ูุจูุฑููุญู ููุงูุฌููู
ููู
ูู ุทูุฑููู ุงูุจูููู ุฅูููููู ุจูุฃูููุงูู
6. So who will gather me in the valley of wishes,
And who will unite me with the most beautiful beloved, with Nu'man,

ูู ูู ุจูุฐุงุชู ุงูุฃูุซูู ู

7. They revolve in my heart hour after hour,
For ecstasy, joy, kissing my temples,
ูง. ุชูุทููู ุจููููุจู ุณุงุนูุฉู ุจูุนุฏู ุณุงุนูุฉู
ููููุฌุฏู ููุชูุจุฑูุญู ููุชููุซูู
ู ุฃูุฑูุงูู
8. As the best of Messengers circumambulated the Ka'ba,
Which the guide of reason says is imperfect,

ุง ุทุงูู ุฎููุฑู ุงูุฑูุณูู ุจูุงูููุนุจูุฉู ุงูููุชู
ูููููู ุฏููููู ุงูุนูููู ููุง ุจููููุตุงูู
9. And he kissed stones wherein he is vocal,
And where is the station of the temple compared to the worth of a human?
ูฉ. ููููุจูููู ุฃูุญุฌุงุฑุงู ุจููุง ูููููู ูุงุทููู
ููุฃูููู ู
ููุงู
ู ุงูุจููุชู ู
ูู ููุฏุฑู ุฅููุณุงูู
10. How often she vowed not to change and swore,
Yet the oath of a painted one has no loyalty,

ุนูููุฏูุช ุฃูู ูุง ุชูุญููู ููุฃููุณูู
ูุช
ูููููุณู ููู
ูุฎุถูุจู ูููุงุกู ุจูุฃููู

11. And the one astonished at things is a foolish simpleton,
Who gestures with a finger and hints with eyelids,

ูู ุนูุฌูุจู ุงูุฃูุดูุงุกู ุธูุจูู ู
ูุจูุฑููุนู
ููุดูุฑู ุจูุนูููุงุจู ูููููู
ู ุจูุฃูุฌูุงูู
12. And his pasture is between superstitions and nonsense,
Strange indeed is a garden amidst fires!

13. My heart has become receptive to every form,
A pasture for gazelles, a monastery for monks,

14. A house for idols, and Ka'ba of a pilgrim,
Tablets of Torah and pages of Qurโan,
ูกูค. ููุจููุชู ููุฃููุซุงูู ููููุนุจูุฉู ุทุงุฆููู
ููุฃูููุงุญู ุชููุฑุงุฉู ููู
ูุตุญููู ููุฑุขูู
15. I profess the religion of love - my spirit
Turned to its rites, so love is my religion and faith,
ูกูฅ. ุฃูุฏููู ุจูุฏูููู ุงูุญูุจูู ุฃูููู ุชูููุฌููููุช
ุฑููุงุฆูุจููู ููุงูุญูุจูู ุฏูููู ููุฅูู

16. We have an exemplar in an Indian man and his sister,
And Qays and Layla, then Mayya and Ghaylan.
