1. News has been confirmed to me,
And news that filled me with awe.

2. There is no going back
To what is gone and covered in dust-

3. Known images,
Tangible humans.

4. Because their nature altogether
Is an evil disposition.

5. Rather, my going back
Is to their like in images

6. Of good disposition-
Nothing harmful therein.

7. Images witnessed
In which we live and feel joy-

8. On elevated furnishings,
Well-arranged and on beds.

9. A sovereign, imam, master,
Manager for whoever looked.

10. They themselves are the beings,
Laid to rest in graves.

11. The being itself, when
Viewed, suffers no harm.

12. Rather, its disposition-
Let one who ponders not doubt.

13. To God in this I say
There is meaning and mystery

14. Which the learned can distinguish
When truth becomes clear.

15. So praise be to God who
Let me witness this news-

16. In our sleep, and with us,
Muhammad Sufyandeer,

17. And a believing woman
Her face like the moon.

18. O her beauty, a flirtatious one
Tempting whoever looked.

19. I ransom her, my beloved,
With my hearing and sight.

20. In the image of Truth she came
With the guide and guards.

21. The person who wanted
To be given access

22. Called out to her but she paid him no mind
And esteemed him not at all.

23. What can the poor soul do, since
Caution did not save him from her?

24. She said to him: "Go down
To the one who forbade and ordered us.

25. Up to here was what
I showed you until dawn."
