1. The Eye of Truth has no likeness in His creation
If an image of me appears, it must not be struck

2. For it is the other who becomes that
Which the nearest strikes, then the next nearest

3. The other exists not, so strike it not
For it is the striker and the struck

4. And there has come from Him what He said
No likenesses of God, so strike no images

5. For He knows while creation does not know
What is there, and this is most wondrous

6. If creation could grasp Him
He would not be the Lord sought

7. When you know that this is so
Then shorten or chant gently in this matter

8. We have naught of Him but our essence
And our essence suffices, so do not covet more

9. Wander in its domains, for it is the field and playground
The feast of Truth is our being

10. So our being is the food and drink
Just as He is the seeker and sought

11. So He is the going and the gone
