1. The qualities of the righteous depart from them,
And hardship takes hold of them there.

2. Just as the fortunate ones enjoyed life here for a while,
The wretched take their place there.

3. They sought rest only
Because that was destined for them.

4. And if they sought aid from a leader
Worthy of helping them there, he did not avail them.

5. My son, when you see them intoxicated,
Join them, give them good news, and protect them.

6. When men fail to truly be
What they aspired to be, then be that for them.
