1. We are the Party of God, whoever joins us
Our earnestness is earnest, and our jest is earnest

2. I bear witness to the secrets of His loved ones
Whom He wills, and to Him we bear witness

3. So if blindness to us grips you
Ask about us those who know us

4. That God of yours is truly great
He grants the secrets to whom He wills through us

5. When we were not men, the leaves
Cried out to them in the meadows of Mina

6. So we cast the ember of the universe with it
And so we cast it with the feathers of annihilation

7. And we drew near the intimacy of the gathering, so has
Anyone heard the whispered prayer of the beloved?

8. "Oh My servants, do you see what I see
Oh My servants, are you all I?"

9. The people fell silent and said "Our Lord
You are our Master, and we are Your flock"

10. "Oh servants of God, listen, I
Am the soul of your Master, the Trustee of wishes

11. I am the eraser of the universe of your secrets
I am the secret of treasure, what treasure am I?

12. I am Gabriel, this is my wisdom
Recite it and uncover what we concealed

13. I came with Divine Oneness that I may guide you
So take hold of yourselves for our sake

14. And take from me a wonder about yourselves
You will find the secret openly with Him

15. Differentiate between states within yourselves
Lest you be as one falsely claiming ascension

16. The sober servant is revealed as intoxicated
The knower of the matter, so inquire of us

17. Just as annihilation, if it appears
In its effacement, is the signs of intimacy

18. Say, the one affirmed in his states
You have thrived in truth, and so became the refuge

19. Awe is not fear, it is
A discipline the gentle breeze translates

20. Its state is composure without weeping
And the existence of effort without fatigue

21. The friend of intimacy has a bright face
If he inclines toward the beloved and draws near

22. He guides creation and shows its marks
Grateful, so listen if you permit

23. The possessor of contraction is a lonely stranger
If he sees expansion upon it he grieves

24. And the friend of expansion hides discontent
Hurt by its appearance, and shows gifts

25. You do not see him but laughing
You see beauty accompanied with him

26. The man of ambition on his night journey
Traveling, selflessness having melted off him

27. The person of Divine Oneness blind, deaf
Neither "I" he says, nor "also I"

28. Oh slaves of the self, what is this blindness?
You still worship idols

29. You have watered the outer of your states
We have no share in you but what is hidden

30. So acquire knowledge among your deeds
Knowledge of opening, and drink it as milk

31. And exit with death from your selves
You see the truth joined with you

32. And look to what gleams in other than you
You will find it in yourselves, guaranteed
