1. I know that something is here, though told it's not,
And a believer accepts both truths devout.

2. Thus in each view submissive is he found,
Though reconciling opposites confounds.

3. Like denying what all saw he hit the mark,
Since the Imam, by God's will, cannot embark

4. On falsehood. So in both views we acquiesce,
As when stolen goods are in the robber's dress.

5. Judging thus in both regards is like the case
Of that puzzle, where anger met with grace.

6. A strange affair whose secret is unknown,
Save to Him, the Everlasting, on His throne.
