1. When the book speaks with what it contains
Of expansive, detailed knowledge, it speaks the state

2. I knew it was sound, correct knowledge
Brought to you as an example of the ideal

3. If the question is ignorant, then in what
You see is the knowledgeable answer to the question

4. I defend kinship against all evil
With long, sharpened spears

5. Made from the tongues of Indian steel unmatched
Brought to you by the mouths of men

6. I saw them standing in rows, foot soldiers
Slaves of the All-Dominating, while we have devotion

7. For God sent them as men
To bring the lowly up to the lofty

8. And bring the distant near to the close
They said, “Imperfection is the condition of perfection”

9. But in existence and all things
Their perfection is the imperfection of perfection

10. And were it not for aberration, we would not find
So do not seek the existence of equilibrium

11. Saying that God does not give it creation
For its existence is the essence of the absurd

12. And do not ask for constancy of the state within us
For the judgment within us is to pass

13. With breaths and examples made clear
It is the new creation, so do not care

14. And the affairs of my Lord are none other than this
And this truth is not of the imaginary

15. I saw the blind become blind to the seeing
And where is the guidance of eloquence from misguidance?

16. For no heart contains knowledge
Except that judgment comes from reasonable judgment

17. When I saw one with hurried pace
That pace is in seeking bounty

18. When a servant fulfills his truth
He has the judgment of shelter, like shadows

19. Behold, perfection belongs to one who humbles himself
With the boldness of majesty and beauty

20. Who understands what comes without words
And his understanding frustrates the speech of words

21. If the matter were grasped by minds
It would become enslaved, not free

22. And the wise would bind it, and its turning points
The vicissitudes of events and nights would bind it

23. The matter is binding in one respect
And freeing in one respect, in imbalance

24. If the strong takes aspects
That are realized, leading to separation

25. The strongest I have spoken of
Will be in essence, the absurd
