1. Authority lies over every marketplace
When lengths are quieted and widths are settled

2. Yet that is only accomplished with effort here
And effort ceases when one leaves the earth

3. To the Garden of Refuge with awakened senses
Where there is no shade though it has breadth

4. You may think you see people yet they are not as you see
For they have nothing like hands or feet

5. Their hearts are like the hypocrites by decree’s wisdom
Though they differ from hands and feet in form and shape

6. For they have two faces in their essence
One facing separation, one facing union

7. And this is praise stemming from truth
Far above reproaching them is my like

8. I am not absent from what I have mentioned
But the virtuous are distinct in merit

9. I have only said what is verified to be
For the image of a person appears in shade

10. And people knew I love in my form
The excellence of particular grace over all

11. So my soul, be generous to a lad
Whom you have placed in poverty's position

12. If he is not worthy, you are worthy
And he cannot come but from the worthy

13. No being deserves for its own sake
The existence of praise or blame without action
