1. When we met them in the valley with all their army
They stopped and said, "Patience, O Persians!"

2. We all replied, "We are more patient than you
And more generous on the day of battle and jousting."

3. We struck them with swords until their ranks recoiled,
And we set up spear points against their maces.

4. My horses never stopped pursuing their path
And killing them after the clashing of spears.

5. They returned to us in surrender and submitted to our covenant,
And we returned to them with restraint in the assemblies.
