1. I say to him, with a spear between me and him,
"Does it pain you, what you have done to me?"
١. أَقولُ لَهُ وَالرُمحُ بَيني وبَينَهُ
أَآذينَ ما ذا الفِعلُ مِثلُ الَّذي تُبدي
2. He said - and I paid no heed to his words -

٢. فَقالَ وَلَم أَحفَل لِما قالَ إِنَّني
أَدينُ لِكِسرى غَيرَ مُدَّخِرٍ جُهدي
