1. My longing and anguish did not die,
The right of love is for you, not my tears,

2. Although the easiest thing I lost was my torment,
My soul and the least I found was my death,

3. O you who deem their company worth,
The precious wealth and lives to buy,

4. The effort of youth in your love is comfort,
And the ultimate torment is that of pleasure,

5. And missing the body of youth are the sins of neglect,
In your love from the greatest afflictions,

6. So my body’s illness in your love is my greatest health,
And my death in it is the essence of my life,

7. And I made a covenant therein to passion,
And I knew your love through it as my rituals,

8. So my pilgrimage was in standing therein, and it
Had been for my sanctity through it my appointed time,

9. How many a standing I have wherein with its people,
I was honored and how many times was fate inattentive,

10. So peace be upon its landmarks and its plains,
Pouring on the rugged and the flat lands,

11. A rain turning the meadow in its expanse,
Garments on its yards, fragrances,

12. And holding the weddings of spring therein, and the
Appointments of bliss and seasons of pleasures,

13. The land is taking on the adornments of its vegetation,
And the birds singing on the fresh waters,

14. Every singer in the idiom of her song,
Stirring the cloaks of the maidens,

15. And it is as if when accustomed to its rhyme,
Disputing in the progeny of the trees,

16. If my tears were in Al-Ghawair, it would be
In those lands, and I would be without my prayers,

17. Tears on the slopes of Al-Ghawair I poured,
Yearning for the days of Thul-Athlath,

18. Days when the pleasure of companionship was aloof therein,
And the union of meeting was scattered,

19. And the houses of Man'ar Al-Thaniya were not devoid,
Of them, nor filled with sorrows,

20. And company was the spirit in the homes and its people,
So it is gone; all are like the dead,

21. That is the time I aspired for,
And so are the abodes of Al-Khayf, those

22. Whose melodies were brought to life four,
The beloved of intimacies and visits,

23. And it restored days therein and nights,
We darkened them with chats,

24. And God protected on the prayer-house a neighbor,
Whom I continued to protect on the platforms,

25. A people at the stonings from Mina's valley,
Descended, and from my heart to the stonings,

26. They set upon the Naga Well their verses,
And they are the essence of beauty in verses,

27. And the veiled from us the light of their beauty,
As a lantern is veiled with a lampshade,

28. Their glory did not remain for the humble hopes in them,
And I have no needs except for them,

29. But our standing on the foothills of Naga,
How abundant were the greetings and first visits!

30. Joined therein in the sweetest companionship,
Neighbors in the tongues of glances,

31. And beauty inviting every empty heart,
Responding what little it contains of atoms,

32. I hope my time will bring me to me but I do not
Hope for solace that it will favor me,

33. Time, though long, remains hostile to me,
In fulfilling my comfort and wishes,

34. But plenty of its sins are forgiven me,
For one of its virtues,

35. Remaining is my righteous, knowing, devout father,
The king of nobility, unique of his time,

36. Sheikh of sheikhs, chief of chiefs,
Of ambitiousness that the eulogizer dislikes in this statement,

37. Detached, vigilant, he rejoices not in what,
Befalls him nor sorrows for what is missed,

38. And his opinions are assisted; the people of prohibition fail,
To obscure them, and the helper of disputes,

39. And the clarifier of problems with knowledge he gained,
Through his determination, knowledge and intrinsic self,

40. And he sees the consequences at the beginnings of his affairs,
With the light of intuitive ideas,

41. And if you consider his conditions carefully, you find them,
Thoughts of intuitive knowledge,

42. Humility raised the worth of his high rank,
Above the flaw of attribution to ranks,

43. In all that comes and goes a worshipper,
Of God and deeds with intentions,

44. Wearing worldly life with a knowing heart,
Avoiding ambiguities through knowledge,

45. Publicly he gives little but he secretly,
Increases it with blessings,

46. He loves the asking of delegations out of love for giving,
So their asking is among the greatest acts of worship,

47. And he dislikes our avoidance of thanking him,
It is as if we disobey him with obedience,

48. And all the good I have is from,
His blessings, let alone blessings,

49. So I made thanking Him along with thanking,
My Lord for me obligatory in decisive verses,

50. My Master, you sufficed me the affairs of life,
And clothed me my religion and good traits,

51. And I tied to you hope for the relief of,
A matter of my imminent Hereafter,

52. That the generous are scattered among the people,
While you gather these divergences,

53. Take it to you, a poem I shortened,
Due to their slumber from frequent drowsiness,

54. The effort of the incapable is upon you a right and duty,
So forgive for you cover defects.
