1. The hopes of a hopeless man, none but you can revive,
Of a bold and wise hero of great repute,

Fearless in the thick of battle.

3. To the horseman who storms the foe on the day they meet,
With ranks of strong warriors, the best sons of nobility,

4. You'd think him Barṣā’s gallant son in combat,
As if fighting Zayd at Dar Ḥakīm.
