A generous Pole, dutiful and discerning

12. He plunged into the sea of knowledge from his youth and ascended
Above what had ascended among both nomads and settled folk

13. He plunged into the sea of guidance, providing guidance to tyrants
Indeed, he sailed the seas of truth in ships

14. The like of you has not been here, nor will be seen
In times past, ever in the course of time

15. And if he is in them, O waters of my eyes, I have not
Seen him with my eyes nor heard of him with my ears

16. For to whom, O waters of my eyes, do people turn when
Harm befalls and sickness strikes the body

17. To whom do they turn when crisis descends upon them
And when the oppressor casts smoke upon them

18. To whom do they turn for what befalls them
Other than you, my refuge in secret and openly

19. For then you save them and rescue them
From harm, darkness and trials

20. An open-faced downpour of tranquility

27. The like of you among all youth, O best of any lad
Has never been before, nor until now has come to be

28. To praise you exhausts scrolls, pens and tongues
Yet I have come with little to say, O my hope

29. And perhaps a little quality speech flows with beauty
I have come seeking refuge at the door of your bounty

30. From sins, for they have led me with the bridle
I want to be immersed in the bounty of a Lord

31. Merciful King, from acts for which He needs nothing
May God bless the Chosen One, as long as

32. A pigeon coos or a bird weeps over the branches.
