1. How many favors from him upon Ali
Without affliction, already passed favorably
١. كَمْ مِنَّةٍ مِنهُ عَلى عَلِيِّ
بلا بَلاءٍ قد مضى مُضِيِّ
2. Nor preceding loyalty pleasing
Except to the gift of the guide
٢. ولا ولاءٍ سابِقٍ مَرْضِيِّ
إلاّ إلى تَهدِيَةِ الهَدِيِّ
3. The elder did to the youth
٣. فِعلَ الأبِ الحَفِيِّ بالصَّبِيِّ
