١. إنْ كنتُ أختارُ السُّلُوَّ فلا تُرِحُ
ياربِّ قلبي الدَّهْرَ من أَوصابِه
2. With generosity, my father advised me, so I kept it
Welcome, welcome to him who counseled it
٢. بالجُودِ أوصاني أبي فحفِظُتُهُ
أهلاً وسَهلاً بالّذي أوصى بِهِ
