1. My gaze reaped the beauty of his face
Yet I knew not that when it glanced, it reaped.
١. جنى لَحظُ عَيني مِن محاسِنِ وَجهِهِ
ولمْ أدرِ أنَّ اللحْظَ لّما جتى جنى
2. With intimacy he gestured, bidding me patience-
Thus he burdened me with that which he intended.
٢. أشارَ يُمَنِّيني بوَصلٍ أن اصْطَبِرْ
فكلَّفَني فيما بهِ قد عنى عَنا
