1. For the joys of life and times of delight, times
So raise for it a banner of victory, traditions

١. لِلَذَّةِ العَيْشِ وَالأَفْراحِ أَوْقاتُ
فَانْشُرْ لِواءً لَهُ بِالنَّصْرِ عاداتُ

2. Before your army wherever four went:
A point, and victory, and opinions, and banners

٢. أَمامَ جَيْشِكَ أَنَّى سَارَ أَرْبَعَةٌ
نَصْلٌ وَنَصْرٌ وَآراءٌ وَراياتُ

3. And under the shade of the horsemen of battle
With steadfastness, and in turmoil, steadfastness

٣. وَتَحْتَ غِيْلِ فُرْسانُ مَعْرَكَةٍ
لَها ثَباتٌ وَفِي الهَيْجاءِ وَثْباتُ

4. New moons in a sky whose pardon
For it are planets and crescents

٤. أَهِلَّةٌ فِي سَماءٍ مَنْ مَغافِرِها
لَها التَّرائِكُ أَفْلاكٌ وَهالاتُ

5. Their shoulders shake on the day of fighting when
The daughters of the lutes sing for them, songs

٥. تَهْتَزُّ أَعْطافُهُمْ يَوْمَ الجِلادِ إِذْا
غَنَّتْ لَهُمْ مِنْ بَنَاتِ القَيْنِ قَيْناتُ

6. Plates which when the knight attacks with them
Pages on which defeats were written

٦. صَفائِحٌ هِيَ إِذْ دَبّض الفِرندُ بِها
صَحَائِفٌ كُتِبَتْ فِيْهَا المَنِيَّاتُ

7. If the sun of morning with its gleam touches a speck
The bent-eyed ones would kohl it

٧. إِنْ مَسَّ شَمْسَ الضُّحى مِنْ لَمْعِها رَمَدٌ
كَحَلْنَها بِالعَجاجِ الأَعْوَجِيِّاتُ

8. A troop, generous who meet from their horsemen
Necks and zeal, aspirations

٨. جُرْدٌ كَرائِمُ تَلْقَى عَنْ فَوارِسِها
شَبا الأَسِنَّةِ أَعْناقٌ وَهاماتُ

9. With ears adorned listening towards the border from Damietta
For it needs from Dimyat

٩. مُسْتَشْرِفاتٌ بِآذانٍ مُؤَلَّلَةٍ
لَها إِلَى الثَّغْرِ مِنْ دِمْياطَ حاجاتُ

10. Woe to the Romans and the Prince from a King
For him from victory and support, traditions

١٠. الوَيْلُ لِلْرّومِ وَالإِبْرِنْسِ مِنْ مَلِكٍ
لَهُ مِنَ النَّصْرِ وَالتَّأْيِيْدِ عاداتُ

11. Where can the flock of Romans escape from a lion
Harmful, for it from the spears of war, forests

١١. أَيْنَ المَفَرُّ لِسِرْبِ الرُّومِ مِنْ أَسَدٍ
ضارٍ لَهُ مِنْ رِماحِ الخَطِّ غاباتُ

12. Damietta is the Mount and the fire of war kindled
And you are Moses and this day, the appointed time

١٢. دِمْياطُ طُورٌ وَنارُ الحَرْبِ مُوقَدَةٌ
وَأَنْتَ موسى وَهَذا اليَوْمُ مِيقاتُ

13. You are the dawn so tear apart their night of disbelief
And be patient and steadfast for acts depend on intentions

١٣. أَنْتَ الصَّباحُ فَمَزِّقْ لَيْلَ كُفْرِهِمُ
وَاصْبِرْ وَرَابِطْ فَلِلأَعْمالِ نِيَّاتُ

14. Throw your staff and it will pick up whatever they untie
And fear not what the ropes of the people are snakes

١٤. أَلْقِ العَصا تَتَلَقَّفْ كُلَّ ما أَفِكُوا
وَلاَ تَخَفْ ما حِبالُ القَوْمِ حَيَّاتُ

15. Stamp them with your army pay no attention to their great number
For they are food for the young of birds

١٥. طَأْهُمْ بِجَيْشكَ لا تَحْفِلْ بِكَثْرَتِهِمْ
فَإِنَّهُمْ لِبُغاثِ الطَّيْرِ أَقْواتُ

16. You hit them with arrows of opinion from Aleppo
And for the schemes from afar, hits

١٦. أَصَبْتَهُمْ بِسِهامِ الرَّأْيِ مِنْ حَلَبٍ
وَلِلْمَكَائِدِ مِنْ بُعْدٍ إِصاباتُ

17. So Allah purified that border from the infidels
Who took it and those curses disappeared

١٧. فَطَّهَر اللَّهُ ذَاكَ الثَّغْرَ مِنْ قَلَحٍ
أَصابَهُ وَانْجَلَتْ تِلْكَ الثَّنِيَّاتُ

18. Remember the day of Saifidha and what met
From the edge of your sword veins and necks

١٨. تَذَكَّرُوا يَوْمَ صافِيْثَا ومَا لَقِيَتْ
مِنْ حَدِّ سَيِفْكَ عَرْقَا وَالقُلَيْعاتُ

19. Killing, capture, enslavement, and plundering of land
How good were those evils for Allah

١٩. قَتْلاً وَأَسْراً وَسَبْياً وَانْتِهابَ ثَرىً
لِلَّهِ كَمْ أَحْسَنَتْ تِلْكَ الإِساءاتُ

20. It raided like burning fire
To disbelief while it upon Islam, heavens

٢٠. شَنَتْهَا غارَةً كَالنَّارِ مُحْرِقَةً
لِلْكُفْرِ وَهْيَ عَلى الإِسْلامِ جَنَّاتُ

21. You delighted the Messenger of Allah and worries cleared
From the expanse of religion and life, clouds

٢١. أَثْلَجْتَ صَدْرَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ وَانْكَشَفَتْ
عَنْ سَرْحَةِ الدِّينِ وَالدُّنْيَا غَماماتُ

22. For Allah the conquest of the border of Damietta and its fortress
A conquest for him the seven heavens would open

٢٢. لِلَّهِ مِنْ ثَغْرِ دِمْياطٍ وَبَرْزَخِها
فَتْحٌ لَهُ تُفْتَحُ السَّبْعُ السَّماواتُ

23. A day upon the Romans which its wind raises clouds
Its rains misfortunes, misfortunes

٢٣. يَوْمٌ عَلى الرُّومِ تُنْشِي رِيْحُهُ سُحُباً
أَمْطارُهُنَّ مُصِيباتٌ مُصِيباتُ

24. They saw the armies of the House of Ayyub led
By a lion who upon the armies of polytheism, attacks

٢٤. رَأَوْا جُيوشَ بَنِي أَيُّوبَ يَقْدُمُها
لَيْثٌ لَهُ فِي جُيوشِ الشِّرْكِ هَجْماتُ

25. So for the spears are both of them or their chests
And for the swords necks and chins

٢٥. فلِلرِّماحِ كُلاهُمْ أَوْ صُدورُهُمُ
وَلِلصَّوارِمِ أَعْناقٌ وَلَبَّاتُ

26. That day the sea turned by their blood
And the waves dancing in it, pleasure boats

٢٦. تَخَلقَ البَحْرُ ذاكَ اليَوْمَ مِنْ دَمِهِمْ
وَالمَوْجُ تُرْقِصُهُ فِيهِ المَسَرَّاتُ

27. They were optimistic that Jesus is a supporter for them
So I said between them is difference and dispersion

٢٧. تَفاءَلُوا أَنَّ عِيسى نُصْرَةٌ لَهُمُ
فَقُلْتُ بَيْنَهُما فَرْقٌ وَأَشْتاتُ

28. This kills your alive forever
And that brings to life in soil, dead

٢٨. هذا تَموتُ بِهِ أَحْياؤُكُمْ أَبَداً
وَذاكَ يَحْيا بِهِ فِي التُّرْبِ أَمْواتُ

29. Harbingers and they despaired from the touch of its hits
Then what if the ends had come from it

٢٩. بَوادِرٌ وَهَنُوا مِنْ مَسِّ صَدْمَتِها
فَكَيْفَ لَوْ قَدْ أَتَتْ مِنْها النِّهاياتُ

30. Trust, oh Abu Al-Fath in the clear conquest for
The conquests were not created for other than their fathers

٣٠. ثِقْ يا أَبا الفَتْحِ بِالْفَتْحِ المُبِينِ فَلَمْ
تُخْلَقْ لِغَيْرِ أَبِيْهِنَّ الفُتُوحاتُ

31. Acre and Tyre thirsty for your vision
So get up for its recesses have been enabled

٣١. عَكّا وَصُورُ إِلَى رُؤْياكَ عاطِشةٌ
فَانْهَضْ فَقَدْ أَمْكَنَتْ مِنْهُنَّ خَلْواتُ

32. And ask the wind from it when it sends him
To you for it is greetings or salutations

٣٢. وَاسْتَخْبِرِ الرِّيحَ مِنْها إِذْ تُسَيِّرُهُ
إِلَيْكَ فَهْوَ سَلامٌ أَوْ تَحِيّاتُ

33. Allah is most generous that their flutes
Are recited and verses of Quran forgotten

٣٣. اللَّهُ أَكْرَمُ أَنْ تُمْسِي مَزامِرُهُمْ
تُتْلَى وَتُنْسَى مِنَ القُرْآنِ آياتُ

34. And that their calf stumbles upon the altar
Openly and hearing or reciting hidden

٣٤. وَأَنْ يَخورَ عَلى القُرْبانِ عِجْلُهُمْ
جَهْراً وَيَخْفَى أَذانٌ أَوْ تِلاواتُ

35. Shake with your raging raid their house
For the nature of the nobles, the raids

٣٥. زَلْزِل بِغارَتِكَ الشَّعْواءِ دَارَهُمُ
فَشِيْمَةُ النُّجُبِ الغُرِّ الإِغاراتُ

36. Not everyone who sought the most high, attained it
And coincided in it, fortunes

٣٦. ما كُلُّ مَنْ طَلَبَ العَلْياءَ أَدْرَكَهَا
وَوافَقَتْ سَعْيَةُ فِيها سَعاداتُ
