1. I stumbled, O fate, is there anyone to lean on?
The shade has shrunk, and I have no one to lean on.

2. My water has dried up, and my firewood has burnt out,
My journey is blocked, and I have no way forward.

3. He who split the rock for Moses, and
Innovated the cooling of the fire for Abraham

4. Will extend help towards my victory,
For my enemies have been cured of rancor against me.

5. There is no hellfire on earth, nor
In this life an account book that is long.

6. My Master, O You whose command prevails,
And for whom there is lasting shade and protection,

7. And for whom there is the lofty house which
The glance of fate is averted from.

8. So O minister of the time, do not be fooled
By nonsense, hearsay, and stories.

9. So praise be to God for this and that,
And God is sufficient for us, an excellent Trustee.
