١. نَحْنُ فِي رَوْضَةٍ وَزَهْرٍ وَنَهْرٍ
وَمُدامٍ كَالشَّمْسِ مِن كَفِّ بَدْرِ
2. And a singer serenaded by songbirds
His voice better than oud or flute
٢. وَمُغَنٍّ قَدْ راسِلَتْهُ الشَّحارِي
رُ فَأَغْنَتْ عَن جَسِّ عُوْدٍ وَزَمْرِ
3. You are a spirit and we are bodies
If you're absent, hearts are seared by embers
٣. أَنْتَ رُوحٌ وَنَحْنُ جِسْمٌ فَإنْ غِبْ
تَ فَإنَّ القُلُوبَ تُكْوَى بِجَمْرِ
4. A palm extended to you has written
Wavering between drunkenness and thanks
٤. إنَّ كَفّاً إلَيْكَ قَدْ كَتَبَتْهَا
تَتَهادَى ما بَيْنَ سُكْرٍ وَشُكْرِ
