1. Jerusalem's malady was intractable before you
Yet you brought healing to that intractability

2. Kings grew accustomed to longing for its conquest
For ages, yet their desire was never quenched

3. Then your time came and at last
What was impossible in the past became possible

4. Never was there nor will there ever be a conquest like yours
Of Jerusalem, neither in the past nor the future

5. You brought into being that which the world knew not
And accomplished in this conquest what none had accomplished

6. The hands of kings fell short of glorious feats
You sought and attained what was beyond their grasp

7. You revived the blossom of nobility which had withered
Victory for the righteous and defeat for the wicked remain through you
