1. I befriended you though you have no friends,
And though none but you leads the procession.

2. You rejoice in visitors,
Yet your own self shies away.

3. You constantly blame the times,
Yet your pace is slower than your mount's.

4. I said, "A noble soul with high ambitions
Can achieve what he seeks."

5. But you intenionally rebuffed me
As if I were a leprous outcast.

6. So now when you come,
I veil myself from all mankind.
