1. God, I thank and praise Him
His trials are good and beautiful

2. I have become content and satisfied
Wandering in the midst of His blessings

3. Free from sorrows, unburdened
The little suffices me at noon

4. Free, so none can enslave me
Or control me, I am unconstrained

5. No greed or avarice trouble me
No far-fetched hopes make me toil

6. The wealthy and the destitute are equal to me
The spendthrift and the miser, I make no distinction

7. And I put aside vain hopes with despair
So rest has become sweet for me

8. For people, a friend is one
Whose provision is lightened
