1. O you who are arrogantly imposing,
Walk gently on the earth,

2. You have become prideful before God,
And you have transgressed all bounds.

3. Who do you think the days have given
Eternal life to among all people?

4. How many kings have been replaced
By narrow graves?

5. The caller of death led them,
And how many armies they led!

6. Their bodies were changed
Into worm-eaten rotting dust.

7. It leaves no hated enemy,
Nor loved and intimate dust.

8. They ate flesh which ants
Have eaten, they tore skins which have decayed.

9. O fugitive, if you do not
Return, fear the threat,

10. Return to your Lord, for the
Servant is free to return.
