1. O noblest pillar of Islam, the call of a servant
Who has tasted the cup of your affection as a draught
١. يا صفيّ الإسلامِ دعوة عبدٍ
قَدْ حَسَا كأسَ صَفْوِ ودّك صرفا
2. Who has come to you with a necklace of praise
Whose beauty, like your description, is not hidden
٢. قَدْ أتاكمْ من المديحِ بعقْدٍ
حسنه مثل وَصفِكم ليس يَخْفَى
3. As gentle as the morning breeze and as blossoming as a garden
And as noble as your virtuous manners
٣. كالصبَا رِقّةً وكالروضِ نَشْراً
وكأَخلاقك الشرّيفةِ لُطْفَا
4. Like strands of pearls that baffle
All who string verses and stop
٤. كعقُودِ الجمانِ يعجز عَنْهُ
كلّ من صرَّع القريضَ وقَفْى
5. Take him from a gang who opposed
The order and made an unforgivable mistake
٥. خُذْلَهُ مِنْ عصابةٍ خالفُوا
الأمْرَ وأخطَوْا خَطيئةُ لَيس تُعفَا
6. Evil people who listened to my woe after
I sought provision from you, so spare me
٦. قوم سوءِ أَصْغَوا إنايَ وقد
أَتْرَعْتُهُ مِن نوالِكمْ فتكفّا
7. Your palm has granted your servant fifty
So they hid half and gave him half
٧. قد أنالَتْ كفّاكَ عَبدَك خَمْسينَ
فأَخْفَوا نِصْفاً وأعطوهُ نِصفا
8. And God refused that
Your gifts be twenty five letters
٨. وأبَى اللهُ أنْ تكونَ
عَطيّاتكمُ خَمسةٌ وعشرينَ حرفا
9. And I saw that the hands fell short before you
In decreasing it, while the like of you fulfilled
٩. وأَراها تخَالفَتْ دونك الأَيدي
على نَقْصِها ومثلكَ وفَّى
10. Because you are the one by whom poverty is warded off
And who gives money in thousands and thousands
١٠. ولأَنتَ الَّذِي به يُدْفَعُ الفَقْرُ
ويُعطِي الأموالَ ألفاً فألفا
11. Where is the lofty heaven more lofty and generous than you
You are of the highest worth and the most open-handed
١١. أينَ مِنكَ السَّما سموّاً وجوداً
أَنتَ أسمَى قدراً وأسمحُ كَفاً
