1. Praise be to Allah, we attained questions and responses,
And Allah has removed from us anxiety and hardship.

2. With the return of Na'at, though he was not from a land,
We attained fatigue with him, and anxiety and sorrow.

3. When will I see Na'at, beyond the lands, while
The lightning has ignited fires in its depths?

4. A man cannot look towards any direction of it
Except he sees wonders from it or its people.

5. A people, for them is a nature that eyes suffer with,
Black in lineage, neither non-Arab nor Arab.

6. And you have found the place of speech spacious,
So say what you wish, neither falsehood nor lies.

7. Pause, speak some of its wonders,
And listen - with me for the listener is news.

8. We were sheltered with it while the winter pouring down its hail,
And the cold from above it has torn the veils.

9. In a night of Jumada, one with calls,
A man cannot see from its darkness a fibre.

10. No dog barks in it except once,
Until it wraps its snout with its tail.

11. The air has unfurled the flags of winds in it,
And sent in it an army of violent winds.

12. And launched its raids until it stirred in it
A fierce war that brings ruin and havoc.

13. And the torrential rain has clouded from the galloping of winds,
Until the air covers itself from it and dons the cloak.

14. And the army tents steadfastly faced
Breaking every pillar that was erected.

15. And extinguished every fire in the tents, so
If Hell met its coldness, it would perish.

16. And the horses, downcast, submissive,
Cannot find strength for what has befallen them to flee.

17. Whatever fodder they throw for them on the ground
The wind snatches away before their hands can grasp it.

18. And every person is incapacitated, unable to muster strength,
The wind having wrapped from him both head and leg.

19. As for the food, it is like the water in absence,
We cannot seek it in any condition.

20. I remained weeping for spring in its expanses,
Sorrowfully, and seeking refuge in its areas.

21. And I said to the caravan, come, no escape for you,
What the Merciful promised has come and drawn near.

22. So listen to something small of wonders that cannot
Be counted, and whoever claims to limit them has lied.
