1. Your solace, O purified family, for a young man
Who fulfilled his destiny, so glory and dew fulfilled theirs.

2. He dwells now as a neighbor of his Lord in the abode of immortality,
And left us with enduring, seated grief.

3. He was but a pillar of glory that collapsed,
Its sides broken, or a knot of generosity that came undone.

4. Had his most precious soul been ransomable,
It would have been redeemed with the souls of all humanity.

5. As long as you remain the pillar of glory and generosity after him,
The pillar of nobility will remain standing.

6. And your fine patience is indeed your custom,
Whenever the decree of fate bears down or grows violent.

7. You are accustomed to fine, beautiful patience, and indeed
Each person gets from his fate what he is accustomed to.

8. Upon you be God's peace, O purified family,
His mercy forever, as long as stars set and rise.
