1. What makes my throat constrict
Is passing by the dishes on the tray

2. My clothes shiver behind me when
I look upon the lamb chops frying

3. As though the strained oil and honey
Were pure perfume in the jar of ointment

4. And eggplants like balls of fragrance
Wrapped in grape leaves

5. Now that fasting has ended
My soul will indulge in wishes
