1. O exalted Master, to You be praise
For the virtues You constantly display

2. The Ruler of the universe saw You give life to His servants
And attract the distant tribes with Your subtle kindness

3. Thus He kept You in the regions of Beirut as a ruler
To elucidate guidance and justice to people with equity

4. And furthermore entrusted You due to His grace with a position
To unravel problems with the sword of reason

5. The Most High, the full moon said: Verily he shone
Across Syria's horizons with perfect statesmanship
