1. To you belongs praise from God when resolves are firm,
And rising stars when a mother weans her child.

2. And a time of hardship whose severity does not kill the spirit
When troubles show their fangs, it only smiles.

3. Events cloak themselves until their time comes,
As though each has a translator for the others.

4. If deviation appears in a kingdom's side,
He sees it as a sleep in the eyelids or about to happen.

5. He took on the burdens of leadership sincerely,
And trod carefully, investigating and wisely judging.

6. Of the elite people of early times, he left them
Their resolves at the start of time as a tradition.

7. When wild animals thirst in their grasp,
They avoid roses for them, save the source of thirst.

8. They combined aid, knowledge and piety,
And composed two harmonious, sweet flavors.

9. Whoever seeks knowledge scattering pearls brightly,
To seeking the deep that scatters dark priceless gems.

10. In dry times, the living drink from their virtue,
And in frightful times, some drink blood from them.

11. O Lion of God, whose abundance the mouths of others boast of,
Except the mouth of lions has no food.

12. May your conquests give joy to your youthful face,
With the fortunes of glory that fill the earth and sky.

13. I saw through it Islam fulfilled in its people,
And its pillars strengthened lest they be ruined.

14. You did to the army of unbelief what you do,
And made it drink a cup of humiliation and aloes.

15. You held back until you found none left behind,
And advanced until you found none ahead.

16. The sea chose only dread out of fear,
It saw its wave from the wave of your sword turn Muslim.

17. You besieged it with the siege of grace,
And I hope for you above it even more grace.

18. Until the land returns as a safe sanctuary,
Forbidden, and all time a holy month.
