1. The secrecy has departed, so why delay your generosity?
It is only the unique, gracious Lord who is distinguished.

2. He is the valiant, free to bestow all praise;
Eulogy blossoms through him, and the pulpit shines.

3. The leader of the eminent people of the family of Al-'Alā'
Is my support and my perfect, unmatched equipment.

4. O my Master, epitome of eloquence, without whom
Zayd's rhetoric and Daghfal's are insignificant.

5. Your servant's loyalty is obligatory,
And good fortune is that you accept him.

6. O my Master, I have resorted to your rein;
Who else frequents one who implores?

7. If the Lord has blinded me, my inner self sees clearly,
And good fortune is inclined toward me.

8. Why would I be deprived when eloquence
Has never ceased scattering its branches over me?

9. Have mercy on me, for the torrent has reached peril;
I am overwhelmed and my course leads to you.

10. I would not suffer while your land is fertile,
Nor would I thirst while your door is a fountain.

11. In your shade is shelter for noble deeds, a place
Where your couches are damp and your meadow verdant.

12. You adorned me first with gifts and later with honor;
Jewels are beautified by their settings.

13. I am the warbler made home in your side;
Because of my praise, I gained acceptance from you.
