You are far from neglect, my Master

2. You who fulfils commands, O He who
Adorns good words with action

3. So strengthen my resolve with your kindness, and join
My rope with the rope of your generosity

4. For how often has your bounty quenched my thirst
And related tales of generosity and munificence

5. And stretch out a hand towards faithfulness, for long have you
Grown accustomed to extending and giving

6. And fulfil my right, my ally, for one like me
Does not mix earnestness with jest

7. And do not reward my praise with thanks, O
Brother of generosity and grace

8. For praise is supererogatory, while a gift, my Lord,
Is an obligation, and thanks are not supererogatory

9. So be generous as you wish, for I am a man
Who is satisfied with the rains instead of a shower

10. And seek her a virgin whose attributes
Make you needless of bounty and beauty

11. A bride adorned with pearls, eloquent
Of beautiful appearance and form

12. She came to you from my province
Expressing my essence and my whole

13. So resolve what had been unresolved in her
And spare the exaggerated censure

14. You continue to rise in the sky of exaltation
O peerless one in generosity and grace

15. The leaves have never sung your praises
Nor the clouds shaded except by your rain
